K-9 Unit

Officer Levi

On December 26th, 2014 the Police Department welcomed their newest officer, Levi, to the department. Levi and handler, Officer Jeff Miller, graduated from an extensive six week training program in Sharpsville, PA (Shallow Creek) and four additional weeks of training with the City of Cincinnati Police Department canine academy. Levi is crossed trained in both narcotic detection and suspect apprehension.

Acquisition

The acquisition of Levi was done after the retirement of Officer Bill Roberts and K9 Luger after 5 years of service. Luger was purchased for the Delhi Police Department by the Matt Haverkamp Foundation, but Levi was purchased through the use of drug monies (monies seized from drug dealers by the department). Look for Levi and handler, Officer Jeff Miller, patrolling the streets of Delhi Township.
