Great Parks Deer Management Program

Residents periodically contact our office with questions and concerns about the overpopulation of deer in our community.  The management and control of the deer population is not a function of the Township, and hunting is not permitted in Delhi’s park system.

To better manage and control the deer population in communities within Hamilton County, Great Parks of Hamilton County established their Deer Management Program in 2003, which includes a lottery deer hunt in most Hamilton County parks.  You should contact Hamilton County with any questions you have about the program and the application process.

The most important thing we can do for the long-term health of deer in our community is to keep them dependent on their natural food source.  Please remember that deer are wild animals and we should refrain from feeding them.
