Delhi Fire Explorer Post 2697 Places first in 2015 Fire Exploring Competition

On May 30th,  the fire department’s very own Explorer Post placed first in their annual Fire Exploring Competition.  The Fire Explorer Post is derived from the Boy Scouts of America, which allows adolescents and young adults ages 14 through 21 to “explore” through there scout experience the fire service.  Our Post had eight explorers complete in 9 events such as knot tying, search and rescue, and bucket brigade.  Delhi’s Post placed in the top 3 for all these events taking first in four of them and FIRST PLACE OVERALL.  Four of the explorers have just completed vocational training from Butler Tech’s Fire Program and are awaiting EMT Certification.  Our organization couldn’t more proud of this achievement and look for the continued success if the program.  A special mention to Firefighters Dave Benken and Chris Gundrum for the countless hours spent working with our Fire Explorer Post to make them the best in the region!2015 Fire Explorers competition2
