Delhi Township Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is offering the FEMA based, eight unit CERT training on March 11-12 and March 18-19, consisting of four units presented on each weekend and practice activities associated with each unit; Saturday sessions start at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday sessions start at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend any or all of the sessions.
The first unit, Preparedness, which provides information on how individuals and families can prepare for a disaster or other such emergency, may be of interest to you. Subsequent training units cover fire safety and fire extinguishment, emergency procedures related to first aid, basic search and rescue procedures, psychological “first aid” designed to assist victims of a disaster and the last unit addresses terrorism related issues. These topics are presented specifically and individually in each of the eight units that make up the full training.
Anyone who attends all of the eight sessions and participates in all of the practice sessions may be eligible to become a member of Delhi Township CERT.
